FÁNHUĀ Chinese Film Festival returns, now in its fifth year at Cinema Teatro La Compagnia. The initiative once again brings East and West together through a variety of complementary activities organized by FánHuā and Teatro del Sale, promoting community, culture, and shared experiences. This year’s collateral events include workshops and cooking classes for children, while the much-loved and captivating Tea Ceremony makes its return.


Here’s the full program designed to explore this elegant, extraordinary, and millennia-old culture.


➡️ 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Cooking Class Returns
Cooking lessons in collaboration with Ciblèo and Teatro del Sale. Workshop and lunch include:
•⁠ Bao with Veal Belly, Cauliflower and Ikkeciappe
•⁠ Chinese Dumplings with Shrimp⁠
•⁠ Moon Cake – Traditional Chinese dessert
The 4-course lunch also includes:
•⁠ Tagliolini in Oriental Broth, selected wines, water, and coffee

➡️ 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM: Tea Ceremony
A performative lesson on Chinese tea preparation. Experts demonstrate every step: weighing the tea, “crumbling” the leaves, boiling water, infusing, and appreciating the taste, aroma, and flavor of the tea—all accompanied live by the soothing sounds of the Guzhen.

➡️ 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM: Chinese Knot Workshop
A creative workshop for children, introducing the traditional art of Chinese knotting. Guided by expert artisans, children will learn to make simple lucky knots using colored threads, discover the symbolic meanings of each knot, and take home their own creation as a keepsake.

➡️ 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM: Children’s Choir
A choir of young Chinese voices takes the audience on a musical journey through ancient melodies and contemporary pieces. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, the children will perform traditional and modern songs in Chinese, offering an immersive experience of culture and harmony.
