Always sensitive and active in defending the historic city center and the many activities that compose it, Mercato Centrale and Human Company support the initiative carried out by Teatro del Sale and the Cibrèo Group that celebrates values common to both groups and a strong sense of identity and belonging. United in standing alongside historic realities and in creating strong ties with the territory, Mercato Centrale and Teatro del Sale share the same love for that unique social fabric, rich in history and culture of which Florence is a pillar in the world.
CENTRAL MERCATO: The Mercato Centrale was conceived and founded in 2014 in Florence by Umberto Montano, a passionate and creative entrepreneur with over forty years of experience in the vast panorama of high-quality Florentine catering, with the aim of countering the slow disappearance from the city center of traditional grocery stores and all the good practices of their profession. To bring his project to life, Montano found a shared vision and joined forces with the Human Company group of the Cardini-Vannucchi family, a point of reference in Italy for outdoor tourism. The synergy born from their meeting has allowed them to decode a new language in the world of food, which makes simplicity its strength. This idea comes to life in an innovative format, which brings to the fore the “artisans of taste” and their know-how in an ideal square of goodness, a meeting place and space for discovery, in constant dialogue with the urban fabric. The Mercato Centrale now has five locations: in Florence, Rome, Turin, Milan and Melbourne, confirming itself as a format in constant evolution.
HUMAN COMPANY: Human Company, a Florentine group, a reference player in the hospitality sector, is the leader in Italy in open-air tourism. The Group, with a history of over forty years, today boasts a wide and diversified tourist offer: eleven hu open-air branded facilities including villages and camping in town in Tuscany, Veneto, Lazio and Luxembourg, as well as another recently acquired one also in Florence, alongside the latest generation hostel PLUS Florence and the historic residence Palagina in the heart of Tuscany. Constantly growing, the Group closed 2024 with revenues of 161 million and an expected EBITDA of 47 million euros. Over the years, Human Company has diversified its business by adding the catering sector to the hospitality sector, participating in the development of the innovative Mercato Centrale format, launched in 2014 in Florence and now also present in Rome, Turin and Milan.
HU OPEN AIR: hu openair is the brand of the Human Company group that describes the ecosystem of its open-air structures located in Tuscany, Veneto and Lazio and in Luxembourg. Born from a synthesis process that transforms Human simply into hu (pronounced “you”), the brand includes the villages - some of which are entirely pedestrianized and particularly suitable for families with children - and the camping in town - open-air accommodation structures at the gates of the most important Italian cities of art. Human Company focuses on what is the heart of its business, open-air hospitality tailored to the person, and places the guest at the center, with their own experience of stay and vacation enriched by offers and services developed based on their needs and desires. The Group thus strengthens its portfolio of facilities and enhances the time of those who choose them, proposing itself as a creator of experiences inside and outside the villages, in relation to a territory to be experienced and not as a simple "accommodation". Human Company today boasts a wide and diversified tourist offer: the hu open-air branded facilities are joined by the latest generation PLUS Florence hostel in Florence and the historic Palagina residence in the heart of Tuscany.
