SALE Sant’Ambrogio in Festival is an event dedicated to the memory of Fabio Picchi, while also celebrating Sant’Ambrogio, its community, the culture of food, and the neighborhood’s artisanal know-how in a fresh and original way. It is an event that brings together the entire community. This year, the Festival will take place from Thursday, June 4th to Sunday, June 7th.
Founded four years ago with the aim of sharing the values of the Cibrèo world and the philosophy behind Teatro del Sale, the Festival is a true celebration that engages the whole city of Florence through hundreds of events, talks, music, culture, theatre, and social gatherings.
The focus of the 2026 edition is RELATIONSHIPS, a multifaceted theme that will also serve as the guiding thread for the series of in-depth evenings held at Teatro del Sale.
Relationships between people, cultures, generations, professions, and different languages: it is around this concept that the fourth edition of SALE takes shape—a collective reflection on the value of being together and on the power of places to create authentic connections.
For four days, the Sant’Ambrogio district will transform into a large open-air laboratory where Teatro del Sale, local workshops, squares, and outdoor spaces become places for meeting, exchange, and participation. A widespread program weaving together performances, live music, workshops, gastronomic experiences, cultural encounters, and activities designed to engage the entire city.
As always, food will take center stage not only as a convivial experience, but as a universal language capable of generating dialogue and building bridges between different realities. Alongside it, theatre, art, and music will create a collective narrative that places the human value of community at its core.
From the opening evening dedicated to the Albanian community, to the theatrical tribute to the memory of Fabio Picchi, through the Orto Volante, the activities spread across the neighborhood’s artisan shops, and the grand finale in Piazza dei Ciompi, SALE confirms itself as a unique event capable of bringing tradition and contemporaneity into dialogue.
Because more than a festival, SALE is an invitation to experience Sant’Ambrogio as a shared space, to rediscover the deeper meaning of relationships, and to celebrate—together—everything that makes a community alive.
