SALE Sant’Ambrogio in Festival is an event dedicated to the memory of Fabio Picchi, created to celebrate Sant’Ambrogio, its community, food culture and the artisanal knowledge of the neighborhood in a completely unique way. It is an event that involves the entire community. This year, the Festival will take place from Thursday, June 4 to Sunday, June 7.

Born four years ago from the desire to share the values of the Cibrèo world and the philosophy on which Teatro del Sale was founded, the Festival has become a true celebration that brings together the entire city of Florence through hundreds of events, talks, music, culture, theatre and moments of togetherness.

Because more than a festival, SALE is an invitation to experience Sant’Ambrogio as a shared space, to rediscover the deeper meaning of relationships and to celebrate, together, everything that makes a community truly alive.

THE COMMUNITY DINNER: the great collective celebration begins!
On Thursday, June 4, the Festival opens with a major moment of conviviality: ITALY–ALBANIA ONE WAY, the community dinner transforms into a celebration of long shared tables, colors and aromas telling the story of the encounter between Florence and the Albanian community, under the banner of sharing and RELATIONSHIPS, the official theme of this year’s Festival.

THE PANTRY OF LOVE and Friday’s events
Friday at SALE has traditionally been dedicated to remembering Fabio Picchi, his words and the values that shaped the history of Italian gastronomy: a visionary and deeply ethical way of thinking about food and humanity’s relationship with nature, brought to life through a new theatrical production conceived by Giulio Picchi: THE PANTRY OF LOVE.

ALL YOU CAN EAT, L’Orto Volante, open-air concerts and Saturday’s full program
The day begins early, from 10:00 AM, with the highly anticipated L’Orto Volante and the Open-Air Concerts at Teatro del Sale.
In the evening, the Festival opens up to the involvement of Scuola-Città Pestalozzi with an educational project dedicated to food and new generations, before concluding with the performance “ALL YOU CAN EAT”, inspired by Michael Pollan.

MILLE’S UNMISSABLE LIVE CONCERT, the community dinner in the square and SALE’s grand closing celebration
On Sunday, June 7, SALE Sant’Ambrogio in Festival comes to an end with a great collective celebration in Piazza dei Ciompi: a long communal table open to the city, music, performances, books, workshops and a charity dinner transforming public space into a place of encounter, sharing and participation.
